Description
The ancient market town of Romford, once in Essex, but now in the London Borough of Havering has developed out of all recognition from its early days. Although it was home to a brewery, the makers of John Bull bitter, it was nevertheless once a quiet country town that came to life on market days. In the book we revisit old scenes such as the Cattle Markets, Laurie Hall and the Charity School.
A mix of ancient and modern. A truly fascinating book for students of local history.
