Fully Illustrated with 200 postcards.
This delightful book published by the Hadleigh & Thundersley Community Archive group is a sister volume to the highly successful ‘Hadleigh Postcard Memories’ written by the late ~Robert Nichols with postcards from his collection.
After several years of archiving and scanning picture postcards made available to us by friends and supporters of H&TCA, local historian Robert Delderfield and graphic designer David Hurrell have put together this new compilation of postcards with informative captions. Not since Terry Babbington’s book, “Thundersley: A Pictorial History” has there been a book like this.
Thundersley has an ancient history and more than a few claims to fame and remained a small rural community until after WW2. The tranquillity and gentle pace of the village, remembered by many of its older residents, is reflected in this wonderful collection of two hundred postcards and will, perhaps, prove a startling eye-opener into the past for younger residents.
