Frances Clamp
The late Frances Clamp was an award-winning author born and educated in Southend, Essex. She had numerous short stories published in national magazines for both children and adults. Happily, she received commissions to write fourteen books for top-selling publishers.
Originally trained as a history teacher, after retiring from her work in education, Frances enjoyed researching and writing about localities she knew well.. Frances enjoyed the role of President of Brentwood Writers’ Circle for more than twenty years. A favourite speaker in Essex, Frances was also a short story winner and a member of the Society of Women Writers & Journalists based in London. She was also a popular broadcaster with BBC Essex and Phoenix FM.
